Yikes, that sucks. The whole thing of putting houses on stilts like that seems so sketch to me though. They don't even have X members, it just looks so unstable even when done right. I'll stick to the high ground.

I hope they had insurance. Living on stilts in the winter stinks. Trying to keep a house warm with cold all around it is tough even with the best insulation, but I guess it does beat getting flooded every decade.

my impression was that the stilts were only temporary while they repaired stuff, then they were going to lower it back down
