Better buy: 560 TI or 6950 1GB?

Going to start to build my new gaming rig and cannot decide between these two. They are both at around the same price point I need <$280... I have seen benchmarks on how awesome the 6950 is in Crossfire and was pushing me a little bit towards it.

BTW I will be pairing whichever one I buy with a Intel i5 2500K and 8GB DDR3 RAM,

Thanks in advanced!

The 560ti is the faster card of the 2. It's typically quite a bit more expensive too. Either you've found a real good deal on one, or somebody is charging too much for the 6850.

Or did you mean 6950 1Gb?

Call of Duty Black Ops, Bad Company 2, Crysis 2, and most of the future FPS games. Resolution probably at 1600 X 1200.
you are still playing on a square screen? :p

yeah a 6950 or gtx560 Ti is plenty strong for that res.

Oh wow the 2GB 6950 is just $10 bucks more...might as well go for it. Might not see a difference in games now but will probably be useful in the future
