Bethlehem Musikfest!

Every year, the Moravian founded town of Bethlehem, Pa, about 35 minutes north of me (and former home of Bethlehem Steel) hosts THE LARGEST FREE MUSIC FESTIVAL IN THESE HERE UNITED STATES.

It's a week long extravaganze of mostly FREE music that spreads all over town. Tons of places sell beer, which you pour into your 24 ounce Musikfest Mug, and people are drinking suds and grooving to all kinds of great and free music all over the damn place. All kinds of food is sold. The whole town parties!

Today is the last day and Im'a go back up one last time. It's . . . fun!

Bethlehem's a nifty town. Haven't been there in awhile, but I liked the old school blue collar, not quite prospering, but not quite out vibe it had going on.

I went to the Celtic Classic every September for a few years. Used to sleep in my truck with my daughter. One year it was pretty hot, and I had my windows down a bit. Woke up to some drunk with his arm in the window trying to open the door. He's lucky I forgot my knife that trip, or he'd have found his arm attached to the door. I got out and got into his face, and he mumbled some nonsense and wandered off. Good times :^D

I love the Moravian stars. My birthplace, but haven't been there for quite awhile.
