YES JUST GOT ME RADEON 64 VIVO IN!! :)

I didn't install it yet because I read a couple people saying get the newest drivers and install those rather than installing them over the included ones. There is some 4.13.7062 beta drivers at Rade3d that are the newest I can find. It says they're not unified but I don't know what that means. So are these the ones I should get for best performance? Thanks.

ot: Argh got a nice vid card but I got a damn research paper to do so I can't enjoy it much. :(

I tried out the 7062s. I saw a loss in performance. Right now, I'm using the WHQL drivers.

edit: btw, unified means one set of drivers for all Ati cards a la nVidia. You know how you just download the latest Detonator drivers and they work for all nVidia cards? Same deal. Also, the unified drivers are supposed to be written specifically for the Radeon. The drivers we're using now are based on the Rage3D or some such lackluster chip.

Alright I see what you mean I just read that some people experience performance gains while others get performance loss.

Any other opinions? I'd just like to get the best driver and not have to mess around since I don't have much time to mess around with it (read OT of first post). I play Diablo 2, Red Alert 2, and Half-life mostly though Half-life is the only one of those where a video card matters a lot. Thanks.

Using quake3 as a guidline I saw a slight improvement with the 7062 drivers. Just tried them tonight. Everything else seems fine; although I am still bug hunting...
