I just paid off one of my credit cards recently. I hadn't placed any charges on it in months, focusing instead on paying it off.
I made my last payment online, and didn't bother checking my online statement since I hadn't charged anything and the amount looked right. Turns out I got dinged by BestOnlineTrade.Net for $10.00 though. Never heard of them, never been to their site before their scam charge showed up on my statement. I wonder if its an honest error or one of those cases you hear news stories about where companies make random $10.00 and $15.00 charges and hope people don't notice.
Just got off the phone with my credit card issuer and they removed the charge, though since I had already paid my balance down to zero I don't know what happens next. I hope they go after this company if they're involved in a scam.
