Bestec 300W Power Supply - can it support my graphics card

Today I purchased an ATI Sapphire HD2600XT 256MD GDDR4 card

My current card is Geforce 6150se and I can't even run WOW properly on it at full res which for my 22" monitor is 1680*1050

I bought the new card today but before I put it in my machine I read the required specs which state I must have a PSU of 550W or better

On opening my machine I discovered I have a Bestec 300W(Maximum) PSU

Is there any point whatsoever of me taking the card out of the box and putting it in my machine or do I just take it back?

I've probably answered my own question but thought best to first seek advice of experts

All feedback greatly appreciated

You have a recent model Dell?

It should be able to run a 2600XT. I've used an 8600GT on a Bestec 300W in a Dell Vostro 200 and it was fine. The 8600GT and 2600XT takes around the same amount of power.

Thanks

I actually have a HP Pavilion a6305.uk Desktop PC, and yeah it is recent but was a very low end machine

Specs are available here if you're curious HP Pavilion

So you think I could give it a go then?

Under Output it says +12V then a long dash and underneath three broken dashes then / 19a

Underneath that it says +5V & +12V - 288W max

Hope that helps

Although that link is pointing to the CDR rev where mine is FCR according to label, don't know how much of a difference that makes if any
