Pretty smokin' deal. Bought my D200 in 2007, it was already an old body then, but it's still a great camera. You can't beat that price...that's about the same price as the current low-end Nikons and Canons, which are far inferior cameras.

Thanks OP, I've been looking for a deal on a Nikon digital SLR that will work with all of my old glass.

Would this be more complicated to use than a D60 or D90? I want to buy a camera my wife and I can both use.

I've never used a d200 but friends have and it certainly seems more complicated, at least more features/buttons.

I would go for a used D80. Same censor... easier to use and cheaper.

It's only hard to use if you don't read the manual! :light:

Seriously though, I'd take this over a Dxx any day.

No offense, but research before you spout nonsense. The D200 can be used exactly like a D80. The main advantages are more additional ADCs to increase FPS/electronic shutter times, semi-pro build quality, custom profiles, flash sync connector, finer control over EV, etc.

You can set everything on the D200 to auto, including the ISO.

And if you do set everything on auto, you might as well go find the cheapest CoolPix you can find.

Well yes and no. There's always the fact that an APS-C sized sensor will result in better resolution and light sensitivity. And I use auto-ISO on my D200 all the time, though in conjunction with Manual or Aperture Priority mode. Sometimes you just want to shoot rather than fiddle, that's part what makes the custom profiles on the D200 nice.
