BestBuy currently has this monitor on special for $449.99 with free shipping. Looks to be a historical low on the price.

  • 27" widescreen flat-panel LED monitor
  • 2560 x 1440 resolution at 144Hz TN panel
  • Ultrafast 1 ms response time
  • G-SYNC technology
  • 4 USB 3.0 ports
  • HDMI and DisplayPort inputs
  • 170° horizontal and 160° vertical viewing angles
  • Tilt, swivel, pivot, height adjustable stand

Kind of hard to find a monitor in this price point with the above features. I've been searching for a while but just couldn't find anything caught my eye.
Seems like there are trade offs no matter which one you choose. The fully adjustable stand was one of the features that was on my must have list.

I picked one up yesterday at my local store. Ordered it for in store pickup the other day when I got the early access email. So far I have no complaints!

Freesync is combined hardware and software based. It's built in to the VESA standard and is free (no royalties). Where as G-Sync requires "specialized" hardware be installed in the monitor.
From wikipedia:
In 2015, VESA announced Adaptive-Sync as an ingredient component of the DisplayPort 1.2a specification; FreeSync is a hardware–software solution that uses DisplayPort Adaptive-Sync protocols to enable smooth, tearing-free and low-latency gameplay.[3] FreeSync has a dynamic refresh rate range of 9–240 Hz.[2] FreeSync has also been implemented over HDMI.
