best xbox mod chip?

thinking of picking up the xbox soon and was wondering what mod chips is the best.

friends have the xecuter, but i dont know if it will work with a new xbox, is the alladin advance mod chip a good mod chip?? any one?

what does this mod chip actually do?

enhance graphics? :confused:

im so lost when people talk about it.


(oh, and you can get flamed for discussing the mod chip ;))

an acquantiance of mine does a soft mod, no mid chip at all from what i understand

he says thats the best way to go cuz there is no way that the chip will jar off

Newest version of the Dashboard has the praticular hole that allowed softmod to work to be patched. You could, theoretically, use a mod chip to boot the system to a point where you could softmod it, but then the whole purpose of the softmod is defeated.

I like the free mods :)

its quite simple to mod it with software exploits only, there is a minor drawback to each of the two methods however
but this is how i started, I was playing backup games and homebrew software for free and never had to open my xbox (warranty intact!)

however I got a little tired of the buggy font exploit and PBL

which is why I now just flash the onboard TSOP

totally free and 100% of the features of the xbox (except you can turn it off for xbox live, unless you are like me and have a 1.0/1.1 xbox with 1mb TSOP)

tsop is easier than modchip even, just 2 drops of solder and flash away
