Hi, I live in Japan and have a 100mb fiber optic connection ($70/mo) . Does anybody know which routers will be able to support a connection this fast? I don't want a slow WAN port bogging down my connection. I need it to have wireless too.

Thanks.

D-Link's DGL-4300 router has 108Mbps 802.11g capabilties plus 4 10/100/1000 wired LAN ports. Pretty sure you'll want gigabit with a connection that fast. Hope this helps.

Heh that's what I was thinking. 5mbit cable around here goes for like $40-$50/mth.

Although the bandwidth seems high, it might not be as "fast" as the connection in the United States.
6m DSL and 10m cable is pretty standard for everyone in Hong Kong (for >$30/month?), and the bandwidth of these connection is quite high as "within the country" download speed can go up to 2000kb/s+, however, the major issues is that most server is located in the U.S. (e.g. hotmail, download.com) therefore, the average speed is probably even slower than the 1.5m connection here. (people get around 100k-150k for downloading from the US)

Cisco 2621XM, has two 100BaseT ethernet interfaces and you can configure it literally anyway you want.

I've been looking at D-Link's DGL-4300 since it has gigabit lan. The problem with most routers they sell here on base is that they say the WAN port is 10/100, but they're not really designed to work with a connection as fast as mine (around 20-30 mbit/s max transfers LAN to WAN/WAN to LAN).

100mb is damn fast adn would never get as slow as a 1.5 dsl when going out of country. Have you ever been to a site no maintained in the us? by your statement it should run like a 56k modem.
