Best Wireless Keyboard

Hi,
What is the best wireless keyboard (preferably normal shape and black)? I don't need a mouse - already have a wireless ms optical mouse, so I don't want a mouse/keyboard package interfering.
Thanks,
David Levitan

The Elite isn't cordless. I'm assuming you meant the cordless freedom optical/pro. It does appear that they're the only decent ones out there. I do have one question: Will the cordless freedom optical interfere with my ms mouse if I don't use the logitech mouse?
Thanks,
David

My mistake dblevitan, yes, I meant the cordless freedom optical model 😱 As for it working alongside a MS mouse I can't give you a solid answer as I use both the KB and mouse from Logitech, maybe someone else can assists here.

Yes it works fine. I'm right now using the Logitech Cordless Freedom Optical Keyboard with a Intellimouse Explorer 3.0
The Logitech Mouse is too bulky/heavy IMO so that's why I stuck with the MS mouse.
I do occasionally use the Logitech Mouse for it's wireless abilities.

It's not black, but I have this one and it's great. Plus, it doesn't come with a mouse (since I was going to use my Intellimouse anyway) and it's way cheaper than most of their cordless packages at $40 (can probably be had cheaper elsewhere). link

Tell me something ....

I'm a cordless device hater. The 2 times I purchased wireless devices, the batteries ran out in 2 weeks, every time.

What would you say is the maximal battery life of your keyboard and mice?

I owned a Logitech Cordless Internet Keyboard and a Matching Optical Mouse and they sucked bigtime. I'd rather stick with USB any day. Before the Logitech, I owned a little slim wireless keyboard, and the batteries on that thing died in maybe 2 weeks and some days.

But just for info....I want to know. And what is your usage pattern like? About 3-12 hours a day? Gaming, Productivity, School? Etc. Etc.

Yeah - the microsoft mouse I have (wireless usb) - eats through batteries at a fast pace (every two or three weeks). But I just cycle two pairs or AA NiMH batteries. Only problem is that once the MS software reports the batteries are low, they die very quickly (a problem with NiMH batteries - they die off very quickly). But in general, the benefits of wireless exceed the small problems of changing batteries.
And I do want black, so I'll probably just get a package.

at least two months here on each set of batteries and I use the logitech optical mouse keyboard, although I never use the mouse since I use microsofts trackball explorer! My father has the same thing logitech optical freedom package and he uses the mouse all the time, he seems to use batteries more than I do, atleast once a month I think!
