I have AMD X2 dual core 4400 w/Asus A8nSLI Deluxe Mobo and Evga Nvidia 6800GT.
Something recently happened that vastly slowed my bootup and I am looking for repair/cleaning software that others have had good success with. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Check your startup programs (Start | Run | msconfig)

Also, look in Event Viewer (Start | Run | eventvwr) for any glaring errors.

i use webroot windows washer and spysweeper with spysweeper running all the time in system tray, NOD32 anti virus for virus protection and registry mechanic for keeping the registry optimized. i use diskeeper 10 to defrag. using this combo i never have any slow downs and keep controll of what is being installed into start up folder to stop any slow downs from that.

Stay away from any sort of registry optimizer, cleaner, whatever. They are complete scams.

That's my thinking as well. They do more harm than good. That's why I replied with the basic startup and error suggestion.

Your best protection is always common sense ;)

Thanks for all the suggestions. I use System Mechanic 5.5 and other things, keep virtually nothing in startup but something really slowed my bootup. I also use Diskeeper 10.

One more thing. I have a lot of application warnings noted as USERENV and DHCP. Any ideas how to check this out?
Thanks again

I use Advance Uninstaller Pro. It covers just about everything including Reg Optimization and compression. Google it. Mine is old from version 2004 but still using it.

Just do a Google search on the error, pieces of the error, and/or Event ID and I'm sure you'll come up with something. ExpertsExchange is also an excellent resource.
