My work is looking at doing a pilot with a tablet. They want a windows based unit about the size of an iPad and they want to be able to connect a thumb drive to it.
Other than the Surface Pro 2 and Dell Venue Pro, are there any good units?

Are you looking for lower cost Atom tablets or more powerful Core tablets? Might have problems finding Core series powered tablets in the 10 inch size.

Doesn't seem like Lenovo has refreshed it's tablet lineup yet. No idea what HP is doing these days (they love making POS Android tablets it seems).

ASUS has a 10 inch Windows 8.1 tablet with a Baytrail, it's cheap and so are it's specs sadly. I wish they went a little higher end with this and at least had a 1080p display (1366x768 seriously ASUS?).

Pickings seem very slim right now.

Yeah, I think you've nailed the two you need to look at.

I'm starting to take a look at the Lumia 2520 for it's cellular capability. The WinRT OS isn't a detriment since the intended users are just surfing the web and using office.

For Windows 8.1 it's going to be Surface Pro 2 without a doubt.

For ARM-based 8.1 (RT) the Lumia 2520 is pretty interesting.
