I have had AT&T for 6+ years. I bought a GO Phone from AT&T and the reps at the store said it will work with an AT&T simcard.

Well.. I have the "OLD" AT&T so it won't work. Their customer service department is sh!t. They just read from a script.

I paid $15 for this phone so it won't hurt to give up $20 more for a new phone that is unlocked.

What type of phone? There are free sites for older Nokia's and some Ericson and Samsungs.

What do you mean by the "OLD" AT&T? Your SIM is too old to use it? If so, take it back to the store and ask them for a new SIM - they usually upgrade you for free, but sometimes they'll charge you $20 for it.... but if you can get it for free this will solve your problem. If your SIM is too old, it's not likely to work in the phone whether or not it's unlocked.

Aimster means he's still one the old "blue" AT&T, as in pre-Cingular days. Unlocking the phone should take care of this. Let us know what make/model you have, maybe there is a free solution out there.

For Tmobile, assuming you are still a customer you just call them and they will give you the unlock. ATT will not. Otherwise thr V195 is an older phone and there are free methods which can be found through googling.

As far as the GoPhone if it was 15 bucks, just go get a new one?
