I dont trust the bastards in my dorm, so I want to set up my webcam for surveillance over the weekends and vacation. I know they exist, but I havent found any that fit my needs perfectly (although I havent really looked).

Needs to detect motion on a webcam, with a 10 second or so delay (after it finds motion, not 10 secs of motion) so it doesnt flip out when I come back to my room before i can turn it off.

Automatic arming at specified times would be nice.

Logging images to disk, uploading to web site are definitely needed.

And if it could send me an email, SMS or phone call or something to let me know its been triggered, would be absolutely awesome.

Man....I don't think HappyPuppy would be too happy if he had a webcam lodged in his ass...

Paying for software sucks! I have a suggestion, but you may hate it... I found a program about a year ago called TruCam or something like that... It's from a company in Scandanavia somewhere. It's free software and works with most cameras. I don't know about streaming video capabilities (don't think it's that complex), but it can save to a file through scripting. I have used this to setup an active webcam (refreshes the image on a set number or seconds and refresh the browser through HTML to reload the file). You can also use this to save image files on a set number of seconds with a timestamp which would be perfect for what you want to do. Check out this site HERE. Let me know what you think. The website should be able to answer most questions...
