Wow, that's a pretty nice deal! Does anyone happen to know if SonataWeb oversells bandwidth?

I'm not sure if they are overselling bandwidth or not.

I have sent an e-mail to SonataWeb.net sales to ask them.

I just checked out WHT, Sonataweb seems pretty highly regarded. I might jump on this deal whether or not they oversell.

Thanks for the leg work RossMAN! 🙂

If they weren't a quality web host, I wouldn't have suggested them 🙂 I do have standards 😛

It's an excellent bargain considering WHM, cPanel, Fantastico and RVSkins.

I plan on using RVSkins to edit cPanel removing certain features, putting my own brand logo, etc. There's so much you can do. Their AIM support seems to be friendly and responsive. At these prices I'd expect to pay $24.95/mo not $12.95/mo 😉

yea, i was just thinking that. chances are that i wont use even close to that much bandwidth, and judging by the sonata reviews oh WHT this is a damn awesome deal regardless. at this point, having they not oversell is just an added bonus.

What I love about reseller web hosting accounts is the free DNS name servers.

ns1.yourdomain.com
ns2.yourdomain.com

Most reseller accounts offer this.

spreaking of, if i just want to use the hosting myself instead of reselling, buying a reseller plan wont hinder that process right?

Correct.

Reseller web hosting is misleading as people get the impression you have to "resell". It just means you get this huge chunk of resources, how you use them are your choice.

So if you just want to host 1 web site, 3 of your own sites or 20 clients sites --- that's fine. You decide how you use the resources 🙂

Now I gotta decide which plan I want...

$12.95 for 3GB/75GB
or
$18.95 for 5GB/125GB

Hmm, six buck difference. May just go for the $18.95 plan for the extra headroom.

Last question: (I realize I could ask them, but you're quicker RossMAN)

If I lock in to these prices now, how long will they last? As long as I have an account with SonataWeb?

Thanks. 🙂

I'm going to take an educated guess and say that you are locked in at the price that you buy an account at. At least thats how it is with 98% of hosting companies.

Thank you. I thought so, just making sure. My last hosting company, Xeran, raised prices on me 3 times in one year. At the time I backed out, I was paying $19.99 per month for 300MB/15GB. It's nice to be out of the 2% now. 🙂

Most likely not. I would move my father's site over (low-medium hits), and provide free hosting for the entire family. I'd probably blow more bandwidth hosting stuff here at ATOT than the rest of the family combined though. 😉

Still thinkin' about it. Both are fantastic deals.

Go with the smaller account. You can always upgrade when needed. Save your money.
