best web gallery?

ive always used gallery - never had a problem w/ it

the only step after coppermine or gallery would be photopost but who wants to pay $100 to use it?

with all these php galleries, do you have to confirm with your webhost (if it's not being served by your own box) that some of the extra php components are already installed ? I was trying to put up Gallery on my site but apparently my host won't install any components that don't come with PHP installs.

ATOT dedicated server. my admin Devious Trap. took me just a few clicks to install coppermine or gallery.
I tried both...like gallery much better.

If I remember Gallery allows you to upload zip files of pictures. They also have Gallery Remote which has gotten much better in the newer versions.

This is correct.

Coppermine is great.

Gallery will be wonderful with the V2 release, but that's probably still years away. 😀

coppermine's "batch upload" is a little wierd...but what permission problemss are you talking about?

4images is only > coppermine if you feel you need the features of 4images 😉 I didn't like the admin side of things on that very much. my sig has a coppermine example if you want to check it.

the only gripe i have about coppermine is users can't seem to create their own sub-category/album and they can't batch upload themselves. i dunno if it's enough to make me switch or not.. heh.
