best way to wash shoes?

i have 2 pairs of shoes i need to wash (adidas running shoes)


what is the best way to do this? take out the insoles and laces and just throw them in the wash?

I take out the insoles and throw those in the washer... then put the shoes in a pillow case and throw that in the washer. Works pretty good. I usually wash em with some towels or something just so they don't make so much noise.

That is what I do with atheltic shoes. Never had a problem with it.

I always wondered the BEST way to dry shoes. Some people say leave it in the sun for a day, other peopel say infront of fans, and soem people say over air ducts. Anyone have a faster way to dry shoes then bake all day in the summer heat?

Will washing them get grass stains out? Ever since I started mowing the lawn, my shoes have taken on a decidedly green tint.

Wash with a bunch of towels on hot water. Double rinse. Dry on low heat with the towels for 45 minutes then let dry over a vent or outside. If they are taking too long to dry put them back in the dryer. I have a pair of New Balances that has lasted me two years and looks brand new. They have been washed and dryed about five times.
