Is this the best way to do this?:

Here is what you do when you have Windows 98 installed on one system and you want to put the hard drive in another case.
As the HD is sitting in the old system, boot to safe mode. Don't know how? Try one! of these.
1. Press F8 till you get the startup menu and press 3 and then Enter.
2. Hold the CTRL key when booting. Same menu same choices.
3. Hold the shift key when booting and let up when you see Windows is bypassing your startup files.
4. put a blank floppy in the drive and boot. At the Non System Disk error remove and hit F8 3 times.

In safe mode:
Right click My Computer.
Choose properties and Click the device MGR tab.
You will remove all categories except Networking (only cards not Adapters) and System devices.
In system devices remove only PCI bus.
For example you click the + next the Disk Drives Highlight NEC floppy disk (there is almost always and NEC floppy even though you purchased another brand)
Click remove at the bottom. Click ok to confirm the removal.
Then Go back and remove the Generic Type 46, 47 or 01 Hard drive.
You will not longer have the device.

Once you have done this turn off the system and transfer the hard drive to the new system.
Install the 4in1 drivers and then the Video sound etc etc...

That sounds good, but I personally wouldn't do that myself. I would create a small partition on the HD, and back-up everything that's important. Then format the OS partition, move the HD to the new computer and reinstall the OS. Less chance of driver conflicts that way.

Let me know how that works, though - I'd be interested to find out.
