best way to transfer data?

i just built a new computer with 2 74mb raptors, and i have my old computer here with all my songs, files, and other stuff id like to put onto my new pc, but i have an IDE hdd, what would you guys suggest the best way to transfer all the data would be?

you could either get a cross over cable and connect the 2 computers and transfer that way, or get a SATA->IDE converter and slave the old harddrive and copy the files over

install windows on the SATAs, then shutdown, connect the ide's. reboot, and copy over.

so just unhook my dvd player and burner that are currently on the ide cable and just make the one drive a slave?

yeah, or hook a new ide cable up to ide2
