best way to transfer data from pc to notebook?

my friend told me that i can make a crossover cable from a CAT5. Does anyone know how to do this?

do a search online, it's easiest explained w/ pictures... (you basically reverse one or two sets of wires)

you can usually buy one for like $5 though...

if you're in no hurry then use can use windows own direct cable connection!
you'll need a special cable though!

You can also transfer data/files between PC's using Windows direct cable connection program and a parallel cable.

or if parallel is too slow for you, get a USB cable,does a 2-5mb/s nicely :)

If you have a NIC in your laptop, best way is that crossover. very cheap and faster than any other method. Go to some local mom/pop stores if you dont know how to make it. it should be no more than $10
