i need to find a guy that owes someone i know some money. i need his address, and his phone number.

what is the best way to locate him? i have his full name. i know what state he lives in. i know his approximate age, race, and what cars he drives. i just need to know his address and phone number. his DL number would be excellent too.

anyone used accurint or ussearch's paid services? before i plop down money i want to know if they are worth it.

thanks.

edit: and yes, i've tried ALL the free people engines.

hehe. well, its complex. basically, i'm involved in a lawsuit because someone did work for me at a company (installed tiles), and they were a subcontractor. i paid the general contractor in full (and way above market rate mind you, i needed a good job done fast), and the general contractor apparently got greedy and didnt make final payment to the subcontractor - tile ppl. now the general contractor has declared bankruptcy, and owes them money. the tile people have filed a lawsuit against ME, because in our state, they CAN. so i need to find the general contractor now, because they don't care about finding him even though he is the one that really owes them money. they know where i am and know i have money and so are going after me cuz i'm easier to locate. my attorney suggested i hired a private investigator, but would prefer a cheaper method if possible. these guys are unlisted i believe.

Did the Gen contractor have a license number? If so, contact your city's engineering or contractor's licensing department and get his info. Most states require a contractor to be licensed for work over $500. Also contact your state attorney general, they may be able to help.

If he advertised in the yellow pages or in newspapers, there should be his contractor's license # in the ad. Look back in the newspapers in local library if you don't happen to have a yellow book on you.

I wasn't suggesting a complaint. You can usually find contact info there. I didn't know the office was vacant though. The best way I can see now is that the bankruptcy is public record (AFAIK) so go to the corthouse and get contact info from the trustee.

If you have been declared a creditor in the guy's bankruptcy, there is nothing you can do. By law, he has an automatic stay. That means, you cannot collect from him, and then, only when the matter goes to court can you file a claim. Short of beating his ass, there is nothing you can do. (I don't think the law will condone kicking his ass) :Q
