Best way to tan the face?

I'm outside a lot, and my arms are really dark, but my face is pale in comparison. I guess it's because i'm not facing up. So i was thinking of tanning a bit in my backyard. Is it safe to tan the face using direct sunlight though? I sometimes see people use those things to reflect the light onto their faces - what exactly is the point?

I use one of these. Hang it about 12-inches from your face.

Hmm weird your face should be getting tan anyway. I wouldn't use those silly foil things. You can lie on your back and stare at the sun. Maybe you have a congenital skin defect.

Hahaha. I knew a kid who tried to tan his face with a 100watt light bulb. He fell asleep or something and ended up burning his face. Last I saw, there were a bunch of scars...

Yeah just lay out. facing the sun. Too much sun isnt good for you, but it sounds like you want a tan so you probably dont care.

Best way would be with makeup ,the instant tan type.You go to roasting your face you will get the prematurely aging look, with lines in your skin.
