Best way to stream to Xbox360?

I always seem to be having issues when streaming to my Xbox360. I normally use TVersity for streaming, and FFDShow for codecs.

I was looking at this thread and noticed that a lot of people consider VLC and CCCP critical apps. Can I accomplish the same thing?

I thought VLC was a media player only and didn't do streaming - and is CCCP just a large codec pack (so I don't need to download a bunch of individual ones)?

Thanks

Tversity is what I used to stream my media to my 360. I fooled around with MCE and VLC through MCE but in the end I thought tversity was the best and easiest. CCCP is a collection of codes, it might include a player but Im not sure, I just used it for codes.

Yeah CCCP is just a bunch of splitters/codecs. It does include zoomplayer and WMC in the install setup thingie, but those are just optional and non-mandatory.

If this is true, then I recommend this one. I kept having issues streaming to my PS3 with TVersity, but within 10 minutes I had PMS (PS3 Media Server) working perfectly.

For supported media, found here, I find that windows share works the best. For unsupported media that may need to transcoded I've gotten TVersity to work, not always the fastest but it works. Been meaning to try PS3 media server but haven't gotten around to it.

VLC isn't needed at all really, it's just a program to play media files back. The codecs are needed though CCCP isn't the only one you can use. The important one from that pack that is used for streaming is ffdshow I believe.
