I have some holmes twin window fans. i know you can buy a filter or something for it from holmes, but i don't wanna bother or get ripped off;)

i figured i would just go out and buy a el cheapo furnace filter and strap it to the back. would i need to tape it or could i use twist ties or something? ;)

Just go to the store and get some pantyhose in plus sizes and put them over your entire window fan:Q

hehe but i'd have to be seen buying plus sized panty hose;) ieww!

not sure how well those things filter stretched anyways hehe.

what i really need? tape that i know won't leave a gooey mess after its been stuck to hot plastic for a while.

well here are your pics:p

i just went to home depot, bought a decent sized fiberglass furnace filter for $1.60.. cut the thing from the frame. and used masking tape around the edges to seal it to the back of my fan:) works fine i think hehehe:) leaving the fans on without worrying about extra dust should be nice.

there were also some expensive 15 dollar filters being sold by 3m. didn't bother, but i guess those would filter out most anything.

maybe i should strap some to my computers fans too:p

ghetto back of fan

and heres the front:)

ok, i guess those spun glass filters kinda suck. my next attempt will be with paper furnace filters. supposedly 8times more effective. bye bye pollen;)

hehe

heh yea, don't have to worry about too much dust from leaving it on anymore:p starting to see a little dust on the filter already. probaly just shake it off later or vacumn it off:)
