Running an HD satellite receiver for Bell

Want to split the HDMI output signal from the other room and run the wire to my bedroom. (~10m)

Use powered or a passive splitter? Is this too long of a cable run for HDMI?

A simpler solution would be to use component cables from to the TV same room, and HDMI to the TV in the other room. You're really unlikely to notice the difference in quality, and it'll be much less likely to cause problems.

You should be fine with a 10m run using a high speed 24 AWG HDMI cable, though probably not using a passive spliter.

Another option would to be get another satellite box for the other room. Probably not a lot more expensive than your other options.

We did a set of 18 sat boxes/kaleidescape/itunes docks/etc on a set of 6 racks that ended up in a yacht once. HDMI >15m is completely doable - all run together, all running at once - no issues. Use a decent cable, but don't spend a fortune on it.
