i cant live without DVR but i hate having it attached to only 1 TV in the house, currently its on my living room TV, i want to also be able to watch it in my bedroom and basement tv. I know i can get 3 DVR boxes but than i have to set each one to record the same stuff, which is kinda stupid. Another option would be 3 HTPC's that are networked? but that seems like overkill. is there any easier alternatives?

with all that work, you might as well just purchase a dual tuner DVR/PVR

how do the new dish network dual tunner boxes work? do u run a set of cables to each tv?

MythTV will allow you to record on one box and watch on any connected client (clients don't need a tuner or even a hard drive with KnoppMyth). I use it for regular TV and for watching on my PC. It is a DIY project, though, but works quite well on supported hardware.

Diego is coming out with the Moxi 9022 next year that can handle up to 4 TV's. your cable company would need to offer Moxi (read., not Comcast.)

Series 2 Tivos (not Directv ones, but standalone Tivos) can share recordings across a network.

so long as you have a reciever you can run the output via RCA cables to other televisions...granted it's not gonna work for hdtv and stuff, but for causal viewing it will be fine

Dual Tuner Dish DVR (522 or 625) will do 2+ easily if you run the TV2 output into a splitter and then to the other locations, the other benefit is that the TV2 remote is RF so you can use it in any one of the other rooms:D

Any ??? LMK
