I game a little and want to work on 6 monitors. Gaming on 6 isnt important it would just be a nice option. Should i sli 2 geforce 770s or get 1 radeon r9 290x card? The 290x supposedly can run 6 monitors with a displayport hub like that of club3d or evga and have eyefinity. Is that correct? I have not seen it done or seen any documentation. Also, can you do displayport to hdmi adapters or dvi on all 3 of the displayport monitors or is that bad in any way?

Ill be running it with an intel i5-4670k and atx midtower wih a motherboard that also has 3 pci 3.0 express slots

AFAIK nVidia only supports 4 monitors. 3xsurround+1.

With an MST AMD cards do support 6xEyefinity. 3xDP from the MST+2xDVI+1xHDMI. I think you are limited to 1200@60Hz though for monitor size and refresh rate. So, no 1440-1600 res or >60Hz with 6 monitors.
