I have a new-ish Macbook laptop I need to sell. I keep reading horror stories about eBay scammers. What is the best way to sell? I live in a big city so I could try Craigslist. Is Swappa a good idea?

Sell local/face to face. Meet in a police station if possible. Or maybe even a Apple store if they allow sellers/buyers.
Accept cash only. Item you sell is as is, no returns after buyers verifies that everything works or item is as described.

Craigslist, OfferUp, Facebook Marketplace. Crosspost on all of them and as Skorp said, meet somewhere public, make sure they can verify it, already have it fully reset and any type of data wipe completed, only accept cash (or good as cash like Venmo or Zelle)

I've never sold on swappa, but I've purchased a lot of phone on there. Nothing but good interactions.

Apple stuff is probably the easiest product to sell locally.

If you use Facebook marketplace or Offerup, it should sell quickly and you can see some users history. Craigslist is an option

Meet at a police station or very public place with cameras in daylight. Request that they call or text when they are on their way to reduce no-shows.

Confirm payment as cash only before meeting up. I bring a currency marker to check $100 bills, but at least be knowledgeable of its security features.

Don't come down on price at the meeting if they have excuses why they didn't bring enough cash. It always magically appears
