Best way to save/store $$? ING Orange Savings Acct?

I see this commercial all the time, boasting the highest interest rate. How is ING? It says I don't even have to switch banks.. I have about a grand to store and I'm sure there's a better way than just a checking account...

What's your email address, I will give you $25 free! 🙂

Aight, now for the real post:
ING is very good, for the last year that I have used them. The withdrawals are fast (1-2 days). I direct deposit into mine, a set ammount from my check each week. Their interest rate is ~1000% higher than my checking accounts 🙂

Open an ING account, make sure to get a referral because you receive $25 as a bonus!

They are FDIC Insured and their rates cannot be beat.

i just started using ING direct orange saver's account.

It's easy to set up, etc. You don't need a referal to get the $25 bonus b/c I just went directly to their site (no referal links) and I set my account up and boom, the $25 was in my account.

I even called their customer support and they said it was in there, but when I told them I was not referred, they were baffled that the $25 was in. But I still got it heh.

But it doesnt hurt anyone to use a referal link b/c either way you get $25, but the referrer will get $10 as well.

I use an ING account as my main savings. Automatically have 13% of my biweekly paychecks deposited into my account. Additionally, I will be investing 10% of my paycheck in a 401K and 5% in a company stock purchase plan come December 1.

I do the same thing with 10% of my check. Oh, and you were the one who referred me to ING 🙂

Good god. Make enough money?

I love my ING account. I was getting 0.05% interest on my savings account at my credit union. ING is at 2.25% for me right now. I got more in interest in my first 2 weeks with ING than I got all of last year with my savings. The procedure is really simple too. IIRC you just fill out a form online, and then mail them a cheque. Once they receive it, you have that much in your account and can start transferring money over. I find it usually takes about 3 days to do the transfer, so keep enough in your chequing for that amount of time.

I've not paid a single cent in fees, and have only gotten great interest rates.

For me it is. I just double checked to make sure. I'm in Canada so maybe that's why?

ahh see my sig!

by the way i put $2000 in there for a month, and now they gives me $2 interest!

pretty good if you don't know how to invest. it'll take a week or so for money transfer in/out of ING though, so remember that.

It doesn't take a week. It only takes like 2 days (at least for me - sometimes even next day).

well it took them almost a month to give me my opening bonus, but regular transfers still takes longer than 2,3 business days.
