Best way to repair a headphone connector plug?

My favorite pair of earbuds' connecting plug is starting to rip. unfortunately i won't be able to take this with me on travel anymore it's a Yuin PK-1.

Is there any way i can repair this myself? the black shielding that connects to the mini plug got disconnected, and the exposed wires that connect to the mini plug dont look like they can withstand that much more wear.

any suggestions on how i can repair this?

Radioshack for a new plug, cut off the old one and solder.

Yes, but its standardized and the worse that can happen is you have to re-solder.

The plug is TRS - tip, ring, sleeve which is left, right, ground

trace it to the transducers
