Now that it's summer and blistering hot, what's the best things I can do to protect my paint? I cannot park in garage FWIW.

Thanks!

Clear bra is primarily useful for rock chips. I have not seen any that aren't clearly visible and are always opaque. Opti-coat is great for the average joe who doesn't want to ever touch the paint outside of washing. It's best left for an outright professional to apply it since it's semi-permanent and does best with a near perfectly prepped paint.

Otherwise, get a decent solid coat of wax on it on your car using s synthetic (AKA sealant) Once you do, wash it often and always dry with a wax-as-u-dry. That nearly guarantees that you'll always have some form of protection.

However summer in my experience is all about protecting the interior. If you have leather or pleather. Tinting your window, even a very light tint goes a very long way to protecting the interior and keeping you comfortable.

Get a reflective car cover. Should keep the car cool and the paint fresh. UV is what kills the paint, and by blocking light, you're being the most effective about it.

It'll also keep the car cooler.

Sure, it's a hassle, but so are most of the alternatives.

I use a sealant (Sonax Polymer Net Shield). Should last about 6 months. Wash with the Soanx shampoo and use their quick detailer. Very good protection. Wash earlier in teh day when it's not hot so you don't get water spots.

One thing I haven't tried but want to is Gyeon Bathe+. It is supposed to have a sealant in the wash and should last about 6 weeks.

Regular wax will last about 1-4 weeks depending on the wax. That is why I would rather use a sealant.

Opticoat / Cquartz is fantastic for making your car easy to wash and physically protecting it from swirls and light scratches, but I question how much they do to help prevent UV damage.
