best way to power gtx 470 with TP new 750?

So this TP new 750 has 4 separate 12v rails and is semi-modular design, meaning it has detachable pci-e power connectors labeled "pci-e" and "hdd". There are two 6pin pci-e connectors that are part of the wire bundle (not detachable) on top of that.

My understanding is those detachable wires each correspond to a separate rail. Fermi line of gpus are somewhat infamous for their high power consumption, so I want to make sure I am feeding my card the correct way. The way I have it now is one pci-e connector from the big bundle, and another separate detachable pci-e connector. Is this ok? Does it even matter at all for a single gtx 470?

The PCIe connectors are distributed over 12V3 and 12V4. With a card with high power requirements, you would want to run one connector off each rail. Use the two hardwired ones, I believe those are on each of the respective rails.

Hi Konakona,

As theAnimal already stated is the PSU more than enough for your setup. Please check this video (http://www.youtube.com/user/watchAntecTV#p/u/8/U9g3ssZpn5Q) we took where the TPN750 powers a GTX480 SLI together with a i7 980X CPU.

You certainly don't need to worry about the power distribution for this card, it always depends on what exactly you are doing with it but most of times the home-user doesn't come even close to the numbers you find online.

Just connect the two hardwired connectors and it should be fine.

Why? The two hardwired PCI-e cables are wired to the exact same two rails as the two modular cables......so you're just adding cable clutter to your computer and solving a problem that doesn't exist.
