best way to play a video game system on a CRT?

I have an older Hapaugge TV card, when I hook anything to the S-Video, the image looks grainy. What I'm looking for is something so I can hook my video camera, Gamecube etc and run them off my monitor. I'm iffy about getting a different brand TV card because I've read reviews and the grainy issue seems to be common?
