1 OS partition. How big does this have to be?
1 Games partition. about 30-40gb correct?
1 MS office partition for all working files too. 10-15 gb?
1 Photoshop/webdesign/everything else partition. 10gb??
1 MP3 partition. whatevers left?

Will this be a good way to partition my hard drive when i get my computer set up?

3 of the 5 orders are comin today on different trucks LOL!

I ussually have two, one for apps and system, another for data. That way if I have to reinstall I only have to worry about reinstalling software and not my backups.

I would have partitioned it 30GB for system and 50GB for data. Otherwise you got a lot of partitions but that is just my preference.

Tell you the truth... 1 would be fine...

But since you wanna cut it out like a pie ;) i would do.. .

OS- about 3 gigs..
Games- gotta have space... 35
Mp3's- Broadband? ...20
And then just Use the rest as DATA... which gives u a nice 20 gigs...

Either way, enjoy the new drive...

1st - OS (3GB)

2nd - Temp files (3GB)(pagefile.sys(optional), temp files, temporary internet files, log files... etc... takes a bit of tweaking to configure in the registry)
These files (other than the pagefile, which should usually be one fragment) are highly fragmented and should be kept off the OS partition.
make it drive X or something and hide it from Explorer so you never see it.

3rd - Programs (37GB)(including Office, Games, ect... anything you install basically)

4th - Files (37GB or whatever's left)
No need in having multiple partitions for different file types... That's why they have FOLDERS ;)

This way, most of your import files will be on the front 25% of your drive (OS, pagefile, programs) so you'll have best performance.
