I have to fill in some small holes in a few rooms of different color paints. What would be the west way to cheaply paint these to match the identical color?

Remove a small piece of paint near the hole and take it to a hardware store where they can scan it in.

Go to a hardware store and get a bazillion swatches, and take them home.

Compare them in broad daylight when the room is well-lit.

Don't settle for a "close match" because it will stick out. Get as exact as possible.

If the best you can get is a "close match", then it will usually look acceptable if you paint just that wall.

When painting, don't let the color it is when it's wet fool you. It will dry differently.

Contary to what others might tell you, there is no way to custom match paint to the situation you describe. Two separate gallon of the same color mixed at the same time will vary slightly.
