I need to make an ISO file of a software CD to share on FTP.

Here's my problem. If I use CloneCD it makes an image file and tags on a couple extra directories so the person on the other end that downloads it will need clonecd to burn it, or at least that's my understanding from my playing with it? Same deal with CDRWIN, they would need to use CDRWIN on the other end. Nero can make an ISO file but it creates an extension that only Nero can read so they would need Nero on the other end again.

Is there some way to make a universal ISO copy that any burning software package will recognize and burn?????

as ned flanders would say (and yes, I took the time to look :)):

"Well sir, I hate to be suspicious-allouicious on you"...but why do you want to know?

Admittedly, nothing comes to mind as an answer-I just figured I'd point out that this type of question can get you in trouble if you dont have a legit reason.

soooo... sorry to thread crap, and good luck if you have a good reason for asking :)

Any software program that can output a *.ISO file should be universal. I've used CDRWIN, it works. Now i'm gonna need a U/P to that FTP ;)
