Best way to listen to mp3's on my home machine at work?

Basically im looking to find the best way to be able to listen to mp3's stored on my home computer while im at work. I've seen mp3 streaming servers like VibeStreamer, but we have a layer 7 packet filtering device on the network that blocks all streaming media.

Setting up a simple ftp server and downloading the mp3s doesnt seem like a great idea.
What should I do?

thanks

if they have a layer 7 filter, the damn thing probably will alert them of significant usage on a specific port to a specific machine....

that, and if you get caught you will get spanked with a lasso of razor wire....or get fired..depends on what country you live in.

either way, jsut buy an ipod or a phone with ev-do, some headphones, and use orb to stream everythign top the phone...

Well, I doubt I would get fired. But yeah, I'm starting to realize its not a good idea to try to use that much network bandwidth. Guess an ipod would be my best bet. Do I need to subrcribe to verizon/sprint to use the EV-DO capabilities?

honestly an mp3 player would be the cheapest option.

With verizon/sprint you would need a phone (to keep it portable) and a data plan $$$...

or jsut get a phone that has mp3 capability😀

Or if personal electronics like PDAs or MP3 players aren't allowed in the office, just burn the songs to a data CD and (assuming it's within the rules) take the disc to work and play the songs from there.

I think that some guys are missing the point.😉

Who cares about the music, the idea is to be cool, Streaming, EV-Do that is Real Coolness.😎

Just music on MP3 player, or CD, is for GarndMa.

I agree. 😉

I'm happily streaming Sirius Satellite Radio over my new PPC6700 cell phone.

What phone is that. I haven't seen a cell phone that is sirius capable. And what service do you use?

Best way:

burn a dvd with mp3s. 4.5 gigs = 4500 minutes = 75 hrs of nonstop music. Don't have dvds? cds should still be good. 700 megs = 700 minutes = 12 hrs of nonstop music.
