Best way to keep static out of my case?

Ok, my tower currently sits on carpet. I have to leave it down there because theres no room on my desk, and its pretty crowded to begin with. But recently ive been having problem with static accumulating inside my machine in and around the bios chip, which is causing my PC to not boot properly on some occasions.... And no, i cant move it off the carpet, it needs to sit where it is right now...

I was thinking about heading down to home depot and picking up a thin piece of wood and placing it under the tower, to prop it up off the carpet... But before i do that, does anyone know of an easier way to eliminate the static problem?

You problems with PC not booting must be somewhere else, the case & all his components are grounded by the 3 pin connetor on your power supply connector,so there's not static electricity building up in there.Unless you cut the 3rd pin on your connector everything in your case is grounded via your 3 pin wall socket.

There has got to be something around your house you can use without resorting to going to Home Depot. Even a folded up sheet would do, it's not like anyone would see it underneath the pc. Anything besides carpet, which is about the most conductive thing for static known to man.🙂
