Best way to keep herbs/spices fresh?

My grandma just gave me some oregano from her herb garden, but it'll take me forever to use all of it. I don't want it to dry out and lose flavor...whatever shall I do?
 
😀 I can't resist! I always keep my herb in a jar or tightly rolled in a sack 😀 I dunno anything about eating it though....
