I was just wondering what the best way to install windows is with the following hardware configuration. I have a 200gb SATA hard drive that I want to use as my primary drive and I also have an 80gb ATA/133 drive that I want to use as a secondary drive (no bootable operating system on this drive). When I went to install windows xp pro in the past windows sees the ATA/133 drive as the primary drive (so it labels it C), but I want it to see the SATA drive as the primary drive (windows assigns this drive as D by default). The only way I have found to get around this is to unplug the ATA/133 drive during windows installation. Is there a better way to accomplish what I am trying to do?

Nope. Disconnecting the IDE drive is your best bet to ensure that the SATA drive is assigned C:. Just reconnect the IDE drive when Windows is completely installed.
