best way to install W2K Pro on a XP laptop...

I am currently running Win XP on a Dell Inspiron 8100 laptop. I have 3 partions on the HD. C drive is 10 gigs and is running XP, D drive is 27 gigs...its just for documents and storage. I have a remaining 5 gigs which is unformated and was going to be used for Linux. I would like to add Windows 2000 to this unpartitioned space.

What is the best way to do this? I guess this would be a dual boot system, but I'm sure sure how to make it...😱

Thanks in advance

I think the easiest way would be to delete the 5GB partition and leave it as unallocated space. Then put the Win2k CD in and boot from the CD. When it asks you where to install it choose the unpartitioned space and create a new drive. This should work although I've never tried it. I don't know if WinXP will allow you to install Win2k once it's on there already. Normally you install Win2k then WinXP.

One other question. What are you installing Win2k? It's so similiar to WinXP you probably don't need it. Especially if your using WinXP Pro.
