Best Way to Install new video drivers?

Hi, obviously a clean install of Windows preferably, but what if that isn't poosible?

Do you got to Standard Display Adaptor, restart and then install the new lot?

I remove the present video drivers, reboot & install the vga driver then install the updated driver.
