I install with KDE 2 as the default, and attempted to upgrade it with the RPMs found on kde.org. Well, it works fine except for a few things, but what I really want to do is to install KDE 3 from scratch. I then proceeded to uninstall KDE 2 and KDE 3 and then reinstall KDE 3, but nothing works now. Everytime my PC boots up, I get this VERY UGLY blue bkg and white console box that boots me into ICEWM everytime I log in.
Should I just reinstall and leave traces of KDE 2 on there? I hate to have two versions of KDE sitting on my laptop. Would install something like RH 7.3, which comes with KDE 3 preinstall, but I prefer Drake.
Also, what are the "[filename]-devel" files for? I downloaded some and not others.
