Best way to implement Finger Print scanner with server farm?

For security reasons, I would like for someone to pass a finger print scan (or even retina scan) every time our server farm is accessed. There will be at least 10 computers running Win2K, Linux, FreeBSD, and OpenBsd. I would like to have a central (single) scanner, but I'm not sure how I can implement/switch this across all machines. I only have a single monitor and keyboard that runs the entire farm, and it is on a switch.

I'm not even sure if I can find a scanner that works on the specialty os's. If anybody has any field experience or just plain old smart ideas, it would be a big help. I'm going to search the web on my own, but I would like to get past this and on to other things.......

Thanks!

you could at least put the scanner on the door to the server farm, that way you know who went in and who went out.

Yea, like have it linked to a windows machine that keeps track of the logs, and have a web cam setup to take video when the door is opened.

Is this respectable?

Or is it pathetic?

I just want security I can rely on and I dont want to pay $$$$$$, or at least too much.

Thank u!

You could use some sort of access control server to allow users to authenticate to the farm. I know the cisco one allows one-time-use cards and other forms of "alternative" authentication other than username/password.

Physical security works for us. Cipher locks and armed guards always help :)
