Best way to hook up PS2 to monitor?

I've been presented with a few options...connect the ps2 to the monitor with a vga box...or get a tv card and run it through there...connecting it with a tv card I heard gives you poor image quality and like a 2 second delay in the controls but no one has verified this...can anyone here verify this? the ps2 vga box (found some on the web) sounds like a decent idea but I'm not quite too sure how good they are (my dreamcast vga box absolutely rocked) or a good place to buy one...has anyone here hooked up a ps2 to their monitor and can give suggestions? I would like the ability to output sound to my klipsch pm 4.1 speakers if possible too...any suggestions welcome
