Im goin to LAX tom. morning...not looking forward to the 2:30-3 hours of lines they are saying...

just wondering as its my first time, what is the best way to get there? Im coming from around where the 405 hits the 10...

i dont know but i would guess a cab would cost $10 each way and the parking lot i think is only $5 a day and ill be gone 4 days so thats only $20...so i was thinkin of just driving...

i wont be having too much stuff, so i could take the bus, but i think i might be getting back in late sat., so would need to cab it then

any suggestions?

You have several options.

405 South -> 105 W, exit sepulveda (my preferred way)

If the 405 is jammed, you can take Bundy (which turns into centinela) down to the 90, take the 90E to 405S, that cuts off some time

You could take Sepulveda all the way but that's just punishing yourself.

Next time you should use the Supershuttle. They drop you off right at the gate, cost less than a cab, and just rock in general. Never had a problem with them..always on time.

Last I checked it was <$20 all the way down to Palos Verdes..

Should be <$15 from West LA.

Don't get on the freeway. I would say period. And don't bother trying to use the 105E exit. On normal days sometimes it gets backed up to where the 405S merges onto the 105. Take Sawtelle south. From up there if you are north of Olympic, it's one lane each way before that, and sometimes it backs up, but after Olympic it's more than one, and it flows better.

Take Sawtelle south to culver blvd. make a right. take culver all the way to playa del rey. Make a left at a street called Nicholson, I think. It's a switch back up the hill. If you hit vista del mar, you've gone too far. Take the switchback street up to the top, go straight at the fork in the road, it turns into Pershing. Take Pershing all the way to Imperial Hwy, go left. Take Imperial to Sepulveda, go left, and then take the ramp to the airport.

I went to UCLA and I lve near the airport and I used to make this drive all the time. I do have to pick up my brother from there tomorrow, and this is the way I'm going back and forth, b/c it'll be early afternoon, right in the middle of the traffic. :(

there are couple of ways I get into LAX..

One is geting off at "La Teheria (sp??" and taking a right and then a left at "airport" and then a right on culver ..

otherwise I do this.. I take 90 towards marina del rey, get off at linclon (last light you can only go right or left) , I take a left there and then head up on it .. Its a couple of mile drive before you get to see the airport (you will drive past it) and then when you come around the corner (sepulveda I think) stay on the right side of the road (near lot C) and you will have a direct entry into LAX from there.
