Best way to get paint out of carpet?

So we've been doing some painting and a bit of it has gone on the carpet--what's the best method to remove it? Would a cheap steam cleaner rental do it? I figure paint thinner would easily remove it but with carpet I think that'll create more of a hassle than it actually should be.

Wire brush and something (sharp knife blade) to scrape with. You may have to cut out some of the fibers.

Best to remove it before it sets up. Since it's interior paint, 10 to 1 it's latex & thus would clean up with water & a bit of elbow grease. Once it sets up though, you're not going to clean it out very well with water.

Windex and rubbing alcohol. Promise you.
I painted an office and got Latex paint all over the floor. Windex and Rubbing Alcohol were my saving grace. Just use a damp rag or something to scrub with.

Is this really paint? REALLY? It's okay to tell us if it's blood. The tricks here won't work for that.

We're not here to judge.
