The best way is to bork yourself on sleep before flying. Fight fire with fire basically. When I flew from the middle east back to the US it was a 9 hour flight, a one hour layover and then a 9 hour flight. I stayed awake the entire night before flying and then slept the entire first 9 hours, got off and had a few beers, then got back on and slept another 9 hours, landing in the US in the afternoon.

I had no jet lag when I landed, and kept a normal schedule. :p Of course that doesn't help you out now.

bah, it doesnt help me now. i tried to stay awake on the plane. but the movies sucked and the quickest way to pass time was to sleep.

yeah, you just gotta stay up.. if you feel tired, play your favorite video game, or go for a walk, or do some sorta activity.. dont sit or lay anywhere where you might fall asleep...

i went to china for about a month 4 years ago, and i got over my jetlag in a day by doing that

Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water before, during, and after your flight. Because the air is recyled on the plane and the pressurized cabin, it's easy to get dehydrated. It's one of the number one causes of jet lag... The rest, of course, is basic timezone stuff. Just sleep as much as you can on the plane...no matter which way you're going.
