Best way to get music from my PC to my home stereo?

I'm looking for the best option to get my music from iTunes on my computer upstairs to my home stereo downstairs. I'd prefer not to run a wire down the stairs, so wirelessly is the best option. I'm not sure if I'm tied down with using iTunes as my main music player, but I'd like to know my options. I don't necessarily need to be able to control what music plays from whatever device it would be, I'd like to just set up a playlist, and set it to play. Ideally, I would only have to go upstairs once to hit play. If there is an option to control iTunes from a remote device, I'll welcome that as well.

I've just jabbered all this stuff out pretty quickly, so sorry if it's jumbled together. Thanks guys.

Have an Xbox? Xbox Media Center works wonders.

Edit: Oh, home STEREO (thought you said home theater). So unless you have a TV there too, the Xbox isn't going to do you any good
